A l’origine, j’ai lu l’extrait comme ça parce que le résumé ne m’emballait pas plus que ça, mais en fin de compte, je voulais absolument connaître la suite…

Si je n’avais pas pu le choper à un prix raisonnable, je n’aurais pas forcément craqué, quelques petites choses m’ayant déplu dans l’extrait. Ceci dit, j’ai décidé de faire confiance aux critiques US.

She tied her shoes, then moved as soundlessly as she was able to the door and pulled it open just a teeny crack. Enough to let her slip out.
No one was there.
You’d think there’d be security. Then she heard voices and opened the door a tad bit wider. Ah. There was a security guard in the hall. And he was flirting with the cute nurse at the desk. If she was’t sneaking out, it would no doubt annoy her that the guard wasn’t more vigilant. As it worked in her favor, though, she decided to take advantage.
No one was there.
You’d think there’d be security. Then she heard voices and opened the door a tad bit wider. Ah. There was a security guard in the hall. And he was flirting with the cute nurse at the desk. If she was’t sneaking out, it would no doubt annoy her that the guard wasn’t more vigilant. As it worked in her favor, though, she decided to take advantage.
Si le début est un peu lent, la suite ne cesse de devenir de plus en plus mouvementée, et en bonus, on a droit à une véritable fin, bien développée. Une lecture vraiment très sympa !

La découverte tardive des volumes doubles m’a permis de mettre la main facilement et à prix moindre sur des tomes déjà repérés en simple mais introuvables (ou alors, en occasion à des prix élevés et pas forcément en bon état).
